Extra Time: Anderson's name misspelt on back of Manchester United shirt

Red Devils supporters might have been left wondering who new signing 'Andesron' was as he appeared as a second-half substitute during Monday's 1-0 defeat to Everton

Losing your opening match of the season is bad enough, but Manchester United were seemingly also plagued by grammatical problems during Monday night's defeat to Everton.

With his side desperately chasing an equaliser against the Toffees, Sir Alex Ferguson looked to the bench for inspiration in the 85th minute.

However, Red Devils fans may well have been surprised to see a new signing taking to the pitch - judging by that player's shirt, at least.

The club's new No.8, 'Andesron', was prepared to enter the fray, before the misspelling of Anderson was noticed and the Brazilian midfielder was allowed to take to the pitch instead.

Not exactly the start that the Red Devils were hoping for as they look to regain the Premier League.

Or 'Permier Legume', as it might well be known at Old Trafford.
