While people back in the UK were preoccupied with the season ahead, the small matter of the World Cup continues in Brazil and a few out there will have been casting an eye over the morning's announcements.
One such person is Arsene Wenger, who was snapped with a holidaymaker on a beach in South America. The Gunners boss is currently out there working with French TV and is set to host a meeting with Mario Balotelli's representatives on Saturday to discuss a possible move back to England for the Italian.
Elsewhere, Ghana had to come out to deny that their players are going on strike and Mexico's hero from their 0-0 stalemate with hosts Brazil, Guillermo Ochoa, took to Twitter to thanks fans for their support.
It' all here as Goal rounds up the Premier League and World Cup media from around the web...
