Word on the Tweet: Managerial merry-go-round in full swing as Movember kicks off

Henning Berg and Mick McCarthy have received warm congratulations after getting new jobs whilst several football stars are preparing for a month without shaving
The Capital One Cup brought an unusual amount of action this week, with Arsenal and Reading playing out a 12-goal thriller before Chelsea and Manchester United did their best to match it, sharing nine goals.

Of course such entertaining fare on the pitch has hardly caught the attention of the Premier League's stars when it comes to the content of their tweets.

Instead, talk of managerial appointments, moustaches and Disney films dominates Thursday's Word on the Tweet...

"All the best to Henning. ALL Rovers fans get behind him. He will have the best interests of the club at heart."

Tottenham keeper Brad Friedel wishes his old Blackburn team-mate Henning Berg well as he takes the helm at Ewood Park.

"Good luck also to Henning Berg. Much respected former player at Blackburn Rovers now appointed as manager.

"Good luck to Mick McCarthy at Ipswich. Very sound appointment. Top man!"

Gary Lineker also passes on his best to the former Manchester United defender, as well as new Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy. All the best from WOTT too, guys.

"Morning all clean shave today #movember."

In case you didn't know, the start of November also marks the beginning of Movember, and Everton skipper Phil Neville is the latest footballer growing a moustache in aid of charity.

"Movember starts today. Looking forward to looking like a character for the next month. All for good charity."

Aston Villa defender Eric Lichaj is joining in on the action and feels he could face some grief for his effort.

"So #Movember has started :{]) look how cool my little face is #buzzin"

Nottingham Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury is also excited at the prospect of new facial hair. We like what he's done with the smiley there too.

"Brilliant game last night fans were amazing great to get the win and go through to quarter finals. never say die attitude #chelsea."

Chelsea attacker Victor Moses is understandably delighted with the Blues' victory over Manchester United on Wednesday night.

"Just out of surgery. Thank god that's over. The whole medical team where different class and done a great job."

Good news from Stoke defender Marc Wilson, who has come through surgery on his fractured leg safe and sound. Marc has the best wishes of WOTT in his recovery.

"Lolling at monsters inc...the little girl is so so cute!!!"

Newcastle winger Sammy Ameobi is concerned by more important matters though, such as re-living his childhood by watching Monsters Inc.

"Some massive tunes coming out on this road trip!!! Old skol R&B !!! #bump&grind #inthosejeans"

West Brom striker Chris Wood is on a road trip and is bopping along to some happening beats. Hands on the wheel at all times though Chris.
