thumbnail Hello,

The popular QPR man gets plenty of birthday wishes from team-mates old and new, while Gary Lineker questions Arsene Wenger's trophy claims and Wayne Rooney is feeling tortured

October is clearly the month to be born in football. The Twittersphere has been rife with birthday wishes, and today is the turn of Premier League stalwart Shaun Wright-Phillips, with the QPR man racking up the tweets from his colleagues.

The winger is joined in birthday celebrations by Everton and Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson, who earned himself a tweet from Wayne Rooney.

Elsewhere in the world of Twitter, we discover John Heitinga was very pleased with yesterday's Champions League results, Sammy Ameobi gets lyrical, and we also see that Eden Hazard isn't the most viable candidate to write a sequel to War and Peace...

"@swp29 happy bday pin head, see you later"
Shaun Wright-Phillips turns 31 today. Yes, really. 31! The former Chelsea man, now at QPR, gets a suitably affectionate birthday wish from Ashley Cole.

"Wishing the biggest small guy in the world @swp29 a happy bday! "
Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge also joins in the birthday wishes for the diminutive QPR man.

"@D_gibson4 Happy birthday lad. Have a good day"
It's birthdays galore in the Premier League! Wayne Rooney turned 27 yesterday, and it's the turn of former Manchester United team-mate Darron Gibson (now at Everton).

"After the defeat in Donetsk we are looking forward to the big match vs Manchester United.I hope we can keep our winning streak at the Bridge"
The ladies are probably hoping Juan Mata means more than just keeping Chelsea's home record going on Sunday...

"I've been patiently waiting for an opportunity like tonight...finally #nufc"
Sammy Ameobi can't wait for Newcastle's Europa League clash with Club Bruges. So much so he's even quoting 50 Cent lyrics.

"Hello twitter"
Eden Hazard: A man of few words. Clearly lets his football do the talking.

"Congratulations to Arsene Wenger on the 22 trophies he has won for Arsenal. Statisticians the world over are amending managers records"
Gary Lineker responds to Arsene Wenger's claim that Champions League qualification counts as a trophy. A hint of irony from the former England striker, perhaps?

"Goodmorning all, Congratulations #Ajax. A well deserved win against ManCity yesterday #championsleague"
Everton man John Heitinga was clearly delighted to see his former side beat the Premier League champions 3-1 in the Champions League.

"Can't wait for season 3 of boardwalk empire to come out on DVD. Torture having to wait 1 week for next episode."
Wayne Rooney clearly feels missing one of his favourite shows is akin to waterboarding. See what I did there? No? No, neither do I.

"Not going to be at oracle this afternoon now resting my knee up after hard day at the office! Sorry."
Presumably Reading man Jem Karacan doesn't mean he's been spending the day with fellow Berkshire resident Ricky "David Brent" Gervais.
