Word on the Tweet: Rooney backs Steve Bruce for the Wolves job, Barton finds a new addiction and Ever Banega runs himself over with his car
After a weekend of FA Cup action and motoring mishaps, the footballing world calls out to us again through the weird and wonderful land of Twitter
By Sam Bisby
Valencia’s Ever Banega appears to be out for the rest of the season after failing to apply the handbrake on his car so it rolled over his ankle whilst filling up at the petrol station.
Meanwhile, Brighton’s three own-goals against Liverpool left Norwich City man Anthony Pilkington bewildered and Gary Lineker has revealed a worrying amount of love for himself.
The FA Cup action has also left a couple of Tottenham players frustrated and disappointed after being held by League One outfit Stevenage, whilst Wayne Rooney insists former Red Devils’ man Steve Bruce should be considered for the vacancy at Wolves.
Once again, here is Goal.com’s round-up of what is hot on Twitter:
"Wow own-goal city in this Liverpool match!! @Ebenno88 what's going on lad, Ur boy doing keepy ups in his own net??"
Watching Liverpool’s 6-1 thrashing of Brighton, Norwich City man Anthony Pilkington is bemused by the amount of own goals from the Seagulls.
"If Mourinho + Guardiola came to the PL I'd love to see a documentary made on them adapting to our game etc ESPN 20/20 style"

"@GaryLineker When it comes to narcissism, you sir are in a league of your own"
The legendary football pundit and former player Gary Lineker admires himself. I hate to imagine what he’s doing when Match of the Day is on.
"Bad performance but we are still in the cup on a plus side, fair play to Stevenage they deserved the replay, but we move on #keeptherungoing"
Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon makes his feelings known, as the north London outfit are held to a stalemate by League Two side Stevenage in the FA Cup.
"Wow hard game today but still in the Facup. I really thought the ref should have allowed the goal or give a pen."
Fellow Spurs man Louis Saha also reveals his distress and insists his disallowed goal should have counted.
"Hope to see Steve Bruce get the wolves job be good to see him back in football #bruceyforwolves#"
Wayne Rooney gives his backing for former United man Steve Bruce to get the vacant manager job at Molineux.
"Wow u have to feel sorry for Ever Banega. Out for the rest of the season after he ran himself over with his own car #ouch"
Reacting to the news of Valencia’s Ever Banega’s run in with his own car, AZ Alkmaar striker Jozy Altidore offers his sympathy.
"Wanted an early night but captivated by the golf again. Think I have the golf bug back...."
QPR captain and serial Twitter fellow Joey Barton meanwhile is captivated by the weekend’s golf action.

"I'm just really looking to build on that performance and get more games under my belt and more goals.
"It's something I've been waiting for for a long time. I've had a few caps under my belt and one or two starts. So, just to get the goal today, I'm really delighted."
"We know each other's games and obviously we're training with each other day in and day out.
"So, it was really good to start up top with him."
