It’s the start of another week here at Goal.com and already there’s plenty to talk about, with Scottish outfit Rangers entering administration, Gary Lineker’s apparent Twitter exodus and a new twist in the tail of the ever progressing Anfield Cat adventure.
A family 169 miles away from Merseyside in Sunderland are claiming the now infamous moggie that intruded on Liverpool’s game with Tottenham last Monday is one that went missing from their home over a month ago, but plans to have him neutered have put the plucky feline on full alert.
Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, meanwhile, is eyeing the top-spot in the list of all-time top goalscorers at Old Trafford and has been on the calculator to work out how far he has left to go.
On a more serious note, Rangers have filed for administration in a dark day for Scottish football as the SPL champions are set to be docked 10 points and go 14 behind leaders and rivals Celtic.
But first, news that Rio Ferdinand has been having a few trials and tribulations during a family outing on the railways:
"This train journey with 3 kids is going to be a long one! Colouring +reading books out+at the ready! As long as they stay sat down I'm cool!"
- Rio has taken to some good old fashioned methods to keep his bunch of mini Ferdinands quiet on the defender's time out of football.
"My aim is to win more trophies and become all time leading scorer at man utd. Would be amazing. 81 more."
- Manchester United teammate Wayne Rooney is showing the world that his stereotype of being not the sharpest tool in the box isn't quite accurate as he works out how many more goals he needs to top the club's all-time goalscoring list.
"I got 164,892 points while escaping from demon monkeys in Temple Run. Beat that!"
- Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi looks to be filling his days well whilst on the sidelines with a bit of mobile gaming.
"Sad day for such a big club & Scottish football. A 10-point deduction will only be the start of Rangers' worries."
- Goal UK assistant editor Chris Myson reacts to the news of Rangers' administration intentions.
"I dislike Rangers as much as any other non-Rangers SPL fan, but good grief, this is a black day for Scottish football."
- Former Goal UK chief Steve Saunders may not be their biggest fan, but sympathises with Rangers' financial situation.

"To those who ask, no I am not leaving twitter. If the mindless few defeat the thoughtful majority then we are all doomed."
- Match of the Day and fried potato mogul Gary Lineker calms the world down after suggestions he is to leave the wonderful land of Twitter.
"I have heard whisperings my apparent rescuers are making plans to have me neutured due to my philandering ways #moretocome #anfieldcat"
- After being found in an abandoned house in Anfield, Liverpool's feline of the moment is feeling a bit anxious of his captor's intentions.
"Feel sorry for mick McCarthy good manager I owe him a lot he gave me my first Ireland cap he will get another job soon"
- Sheffield Wedensday's Clinton Morrison pays tribute to the sacked Wolves boss Mick McCarthy, who gave the striker his international debut while managing the Republic of Ireland.
"Sad to see the Gaffer leave Wolves today. Mick has been very influential on my career and I wish him all the very best in the future. G3"
- Wolves defender, currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, George Elokobi continued the well-wishing towards McCarthy, who brought him to the club in 2008 (also, notice the self-imposed nickname "G3").
"I will have a scan at 3.30pm today..hopefully it won't have big damages!finger cross but feeling a bit better already!"
- More positive news for Wolves fan now though as Tottenham loanee Sebastien Bassong is hopeful his hamstring injury isn't has bad as first feared.
"Well,we all found out who is the tabletennis king at Fulham"
- It's all fun and games at Craven Cottage however as John Arne-Riise keeps us guessing.
"Congratulations to @ShaneDuffy34 on his call up to the full Irish squad"
- Everton captain Phil Neville sends his compliments to fellow Toffee Shane Duffy.
