thumbnail Hello,

The Barcelona midfielder speaks of his attitude towards individual prizes, his pride to play for club and country and why Lionel Messi is the best player on the planet

Barcelona star Andres Iniesta insists that he does not dream of winning the Ballon d'Or.

The midfielder won the accolade of 'Best Player in Europe' in the summer and, although he enjoys receiving individual praise, he revealed that he is just happy to be playing at his current level.

"I try to play my football and it is important that the people recognise my work but I do not necessarily think about it," the Blaugrana playmaker told RMC.

"The Ballon d'Or is not necessarily a dream of mine. I do not necessarily think about the individual prizes but, if I win, of course I would be happy.

"I feel privileged to play at this time, with the best team of Barcelona, with whom I wish to finish my career, and Spain. With the players with whom I am currently playing, I feel better and I am still getting better every day."

Iniesta was quick to turn the attention to his team-mate, Lionel Messi, in light of the discussions of awards.

"Messi is the best player in the world," the Spain international added. "He does a lot of things in a very natural way. Playing with him is very easy, just like all the players with whom I play."
