The Albiceleste line up against Joachim Low's side looking to win the tournament for the first time since 1986 and the Monterrey defender, who has made two appearances in this tournament, says that his team want to write a new chapter in Argentine football after losing their last final to the Germans in 1990.

"The dream is clear," he declared to the press. "If you ask each and every one of the people in the team, we all have it clear in our minds.

"We are highly motivated and highly concentrated on everything working out right, trying our best to bring this great dream to the people of Argentina.

"We want to write a new chapter. The final defeat in 1990 was very painful and we know what happened. We have to be very focused because we want the story to be a positive story this time. I think it would be something beautiful to go back to the people of Argentina with the cup.

"Playing in a final is a dream come true and we will go out to enjoy it," Basanta added. "It has been a great effort from the players but also all of the people involved and the families. With humility and effort, everything can be achieved."
