thumbnail Hello,

The Barcelona midfielder has urged his international team-mates to give their all in Tuesday's encounter so they can maintain their perfect record in World Cup 2014 qualifying

Andres Iniesta has insisted that Spain cannot afford to lose any focus in their World Cup 2014 qualifier against France if they are to claim all three points.

The reigning world champions beat les Bleus during Euro 2012, but the midfielder has stressed that previous results count for nothing when both sides meet again in Madrid on Tuesday.

"If we are not on top of our game against France, they will be the ones coming out victorious, that's for sure, Iniesta was quoted as saying by France Football.

"We cannot rely on results from the past in Tuesday's game, nor on France's friendly loss against Japan. France are, in theory, our direct rivals for qualification for the World Cup.

"The fact that we beat them at Euro 2012 doesn't mean that we hold an advantage over them. They no longer have the same players, and have a new coach, too."

Tuesday's match at the Vicente Calderon is scheduled to kick off at 21:00CET.
