thumbnail Hello,

The White Eagles centre-back has insisted the challenge of coming up against the likes of Wayne Rooney will be no different to playing in Serie A each week with Torino

Poland defender Kamil Glik has insisted he does not fear coming up against England's strikeforce in Warsaw on Tuesday.

The White Eagles, who are unbeaten at home in 12 matches, welcome Roy Hodgson's side in their next World Cup qualifying Group H match.

But, after featuring in every Serie A game so far this season with club side Torino, the 24-year-old has no concerns in coming up against the likes of Wayne Rooney.

"They are high-class players, especially Wayne Rooney,  but in Italy I have to face world-class strikers every week," he told reporters.

16/1 Kamil Glik is 16/1 with bet365 to score at anytime against England on Tuesday

"I think Rooney is a world-class striker and we will show him and the other England players a lot of respect, but we will play without fear.

"I do not want to say that myself and [centre back partner] Marcin Wasilewski are sprinters, but we play against speedy strikers on a regular basis and do not do too badly.

"Against the England forwards, we will look to limit their skills by striking the right balance defensively."

The centre-back also played down the importance of the fixture, claiming qualifying is still at an early stage in which nothing can be decided.

"We should not consider this game to be a special one," he commented.

"No victory, nor defeat, will decide whether we go to the World Cup. We will still have that aim regardless of the result. It is an important game, but not a decisive one."
