The 19-year-old had, prior to his start against San Marino, failed to find the net in his seven appearances for the Three Lions but the Arsenal youngster revealed that it was not only for professional reasons that he was pleased to get off the mark.
"I've been looking for my first goal for England, and my dad's [Mark Chamberlain] been pushing me, telling me I need to get a goal," he told Sky Sports.

Oxlade-Chamberlain then went on to admit that there may have been an element of luck in the build-up to his goal.
"I didn't have too much time to think about it, to be fair. I think it was a bit of a dodgy touch from Tom Cleverley," the youngster conceded. "I don't even think he meant to give it to me!
"It just came to me and I've just tried to pass it and caress it into the corner."
