thumbnail Hello,

Roy Hodgson has left out a number of players from the squad that would argue they deserve another chance or should be given their first, but who is their biggest absentee?

As England manager Roy Hodgson looks set to build a squad worthy of challenging top sides at the next World Cup, decisions will need to be made on who to call upon to stand the best possible chance in Brazil.

Recent additions such as Tom Cleverley and Gary Cahill have impressed which has prompted Hodgson to test out a few more new faces, with Fraser Forster and Ryan Shawcross being called up for the games against San Marino and Poland next week.

But this means some players will have been left out, both old England internationals and youngsters who have performed well for their clubs so far this season, so who do you think deserves a place in the squad?

Does veteran striker Peter Crouch's impressive goal-scoring record for England merit him a place ahead of Southampton's Rickie Lambert who has bagged four goals in five league games this season?

With young Gunner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starting his England career well should Hodgson call upon similar players like Raheem Sterling or Adam Lallana?

Rio Ferdinand's international future has been all but ended this week by Roy Hodgson, but do you think Ryan Shawcross is a good enough replacement for a player who has made over 80 appearances for England?

And Darren Bent has scored goals wherever he has been, so does he deserve a place? Would it be ahead of Andy Carroll?

Is there another player who has caught your eye this season, or a past player who you feel deserves to be in there?
