The 42-year-old has revealed that the Cardiff City striker could be set to make his international comeback in the upcoming World Cup qualifying clash with Scotland

Wales manager Chris Coleman has revealed he will contact Craig Bellamy in the hope that the Cardiff City striker can resume his international career against Scotland next month.

Bellamy was heavily missed by his country as they crashed to defeat against Belgium and Serbia in their two opening World Cup qualifiers.

The former Liverpool man missed those games due to a calf injury but has also recently revealed that he is struggling to come to terms with the death of his former manager and friend, Gary Speed.

But Coleman has spoken to Bellamy already about his international future and plans to have further talks with the 33-year-old ahead of next month’s vital game against Scotland.

Speaking to reporters, Coleman said: “I met Craig last week at the team hotel and he was okay in himself, he has said himself what he wants to say about his own situation.

“And, of course, I'll sit down with him and find out what he is thinking.

“But, please bear in mind this is a conversation I've already had with him once.”

Bellamy has said in the past that he would “never retire from Wales”, who currently sit bottom of Group A.
