The 23-year-old Derry born midfielder was left on the bench as Giovanni Trapattoni sent on Shane Long and Kevin Doyle in the second half, with Long, Simon Cox, and Jon Walters all getting game time ahead of McClean on the wing.
McClean's post was retweeted over a thousand times from fans and disgruntled supporters, but was quickly removed from the social networking website.
