The national team boss believes that the Selecao will win the showpiece event and says that Neymar could be the most valuable player of the tournament in two years' time

Brazil coach Mano Menezes is confident that his side will lift the World Cup trophy in 2014.

The South American country will play host to the upcoming edition of the prestigious tournament, with the Selecao looking to win the trophy for the first time since 2002.

Brazil were in disappointing form at the Copa America last summer, crashing out in the quarter-finals against Paraguay, but Menezes has no doubt that the team will win their sixth World Cup crown in two years' time.

"We will win the World Cup in 2014," Menezes told Marca Brasil. "We have a talented generation, with a very strong mindset.

"These are players who can handle the pressure of representing Brazil at such an important moment, even though they are very young.

"And we also have experienced players who can balance it out. This will become very clear for the fans soon."

The 49-year-old coach admitted that Neymar could be the best player of the World Cup, but he put his money on Argentina's Lionel Messi.

"Neymar can be the best, but Messi's chances are bigger, because he is at a more advanced stage and is more mature," Menezes said.

"I am afraid when it comes to Neymar, just like I would be in the case of a student who is the top of his class, because both can lose their reference points and the notion that they can still improve."
