Team GB target Wales international Jack Collison - report
The West Ham midfielder has been named in a provisional squad ahead of this summer's Olympic Games, an issue that has caused friction with the Welsh FA recently
By James McManus
Team GB face the risk of incurring the wrath of the Welsh FA once more after West Ham midfielder Jack Collison was targeted for a call-up to the Olympic Games squad, according to The Sun.
The FAW have been reluctant to agree to their own players being called up for this summer’s London games as they fear it could significantly impact on their autonomy at FIFA and their international independence in football.
However, while the FAW are not in favour of Team GB, ultimately, the choice has been left up to the individual players.
Collison, 23, along with Wales team-mates Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale as well as West Ham colleagues Mark Noble and James Tomkins, have been named in the provisional squad.
Ramsey and Bale sparked controversy last year when they featured in promotional photos for the official Team GB jersey.

"I'm just really looking to build on that performance and get more games under my belt and more goals.
"It's something I've been waiting for for a long time. I've had a few caps under my belt and one or two starts. So, just to get the goal today, I'm really delighted."
"We know each other's games and obviously we're training with each other day in and day out.
"So, it was really good to start up top with him."
