The Liverpool striker expressed his delight minutes after sending his nation to the final of the 2011 Copa America, after he scored twice to secure a 2-0 win over Peru
The Liverpool forward scored both goals for his nation as they secured their place in the final for the first time since 1999.
"It's an extra plus to play the final in Argentina," Suarez told Argentine TV station Telefe at the end of the game. "It's really nice. Now we have to enjoy, celebrate and focus on the objective, which is the final."
Suarez then revealed that his side had to adopt a different strategy to the approach they took against Argentina in the quarter-finals.
"I think we knew Argentina were going to attack us. But today, we had to come out, play and attack," the striker said. "In the second half, we were convincing in the beginning, and that gave us the win."
On Sunday, Uruguay can become the most successful nation in the history of the competition. Tied with Argentina with 14 Copa America titles, they can claim a record 15th if they beat either Paraguay or Venezuela in the final.
