Brazil's Julio Cesar: Team has work to do to improve after Paraguay tie
Inter shot-stopper says 2-2 result was a fair reflection of the game, but concedes that Brazil fans are right to be frustrated by their poor performance in the Copa America
By Trevor Allen
The holders took a 1-0 lead in the first half, before Paraguay hit back with goals from Roque Santa Cruz and Nelson Valdez after the break, and striker Fred had to rescue a draw for Mano Menezes's side with a late leveller.
"Certainly for the fans, it is not a wonderful result. But given the game, it was not a bad draw," Cesar said after the match. "I understand the anger of our people, but we're also not happy."
The Inter glovesman conceded the team did not play well for parts of the game, but said they could take away many positives from the match.
"I think we have to repeat some of the things we did well in the first half and not look at the poor performance in the second half. We have much work still to find what you [the fans] seek."
Brazil have two points and sit in third place in the Copa America Group B, heading into their final group match against bottom-placed Ecuador.
