thumbnail Hello,

The Brazilian defender claimed he does not know the purpose behind the visit of his club's patron to the South American nations' clash in La Plata on Sunday evening

Dani Alves says he does not know why Barcelona president Sandro Rossell attended Brazil's Copa America match against Venezuela.

The Barcelona supremo travelled to the Estadio Ciudad de La Plata with the Brazil national team, which sparked rumours that he was handling transfer matters for his club.

The Catalan club have been linked with an interest in Brazilian pair Neymar and Thiago Silva, who both started for their country in Sunday's goalless draw against Venezuela. Meanwhile, there have also been reports Rosell is in the country to tie up a deal for Chile's Alexis Sanchez.

Dani Alves stated he did not pay attention to the issue before the match, but added he is intrigued about the visit of his club's president.

"He didn't talk to me, I was focused on the match, so he did not tell me what he was there for," he responded when asked why the Barcelona leader was present for the contest by Goal.com Brazil's Andre Baibich.

"I think that other than being the president of Barcelona, he is also an admirer of football and a fan of the Brazil national team, so he watches us every chance he gets.

"I'm also curious to know what he came here to do, but like I said, I was focused on the match."
