TEAM NEWS: Oxlade-Chamberlain & Sturridge start for England in Republic of Ireland friendly clash

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge start for England in tonight's friendly with Republic of Ireland at Wembley.

Sturridge makes his first Three Lions start after a blistering end to the season with Liverpool, spearheading a formidable-looking attack which also boasts Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney.

Michael Carrick partners Frank Lampard in midfield, while Ashley Cole captains the side from left-back.

Giovanni Trapattoni has gone with a conventional 4-4-2 formation, with Jonathan Walters and Aidan McGeady patrolling the flanks and Shane Long partnering captain Robbie Keane up front.
