New Liverpool signing Samed Yesil ran the show as Germany Under-19s ran out 3-1 winners against England on Thursday night.

The 18-year-old scored twice and set up another as Christian Ziege’s men saw off a stubborn opposition with relative ease.

Yesil notched his first after just two minutes when he spun neatly inside the box, creating his own space, before firing past Jordan Pickford in goal.

England equalised half an hour later when Manchester United's Nick Powell was put through on goal and showed composure to dink a deft chip to leave Odisseas Vlachodimos helpless in goal.

Yesil put his team back in front just after the break with a rebounded effort after his first shot was saved by the Sunderland goalkeeper before turning provider 10 minutes later when he played in Sebastian Kerk of Freiburg for the third and decisive goal which killed off England's hope of a second equaliser.

Noel Blake gave a number of his players a run-out in the game ahead of their first qualifying round of the 2013 European Championship next month, where they will play Ukraine, Estonia and the Faroe Islands.
