Thomas Muller: Germany sent a message to all opponents in Netherlands win
Bayern Munich star believes his side's emphatic win over their local rivals doubled as a threat to future opponents ahead of Euro 2012 finals
By Clark Whitney
Muller, who scored the opener and was involved in both of his team's other goals, believes that they issued a statement of intent with their scintillating performance on Tuesday evening.
"If you beat the Netherlands in this way, it sends a message to all other nations," he told Goal.com after the game.
"In the first half, the Netherlands radiated a bit of danger, but we clearly dominated the second half," Muller summarised. "We scored three outstanding goals."
The win capped a remarkable year in which Germany finished with a perfect 10 wins from as many Euro 2012 qualifiers, and won 'prestige friendlies' against Brazil and Uruguay, in addition to the Netherlands.
