Sweden head coach Erik Hamren believes England's youngsters are ready to "step up" after their 1-0 victory over his side on Tuesday night.

The likes of Kyle Walker, Jack Rodwell and Phil Jones impressed for Fabio Capello's Three Lions and are in the running to make the England squad for Euro 2012 next summer.

“They are good, they are staring to be big players in the clubs,” Hamren told reporters at Wembley.

“Of course they will develop and be big players in international football.

“Many of them are taking the next step. Maybe it is the time now. It is the same for us in Sweden.”

Hamren was disappointed to see his side lose to an own goal Daniel Majstorovic but believes England are in good form and making fewer mistakes then in previous matches.

He added: “They are strong players and a strong team. If you see the qualification they have a strong defence and work hard for each other. They are not making as many mistakes.

“They are good and difficult to create chances against. I have not seen all their games but I believe more teams than us that have had the same feeling.”
