The striker has not hit the net for the Albiceleste - now coached by Alejandro Sabella - since June when he scored in a 4-0 friendly win over Albania.
Messi has since gone four games without a goal for Argentina, including the recent 1-0 friendly win over Venezuela.
And despite receiving praise from his coach, Messi is concerned.
"I score in every way at Barcelona, even without wanting to," Messi is quoted as saying in La Repubblica.
"With Argentina I try to score goals but I am unable to find the net. Maybe it is because I am not tranquil."
Messi has scored six goals in Barcelona's last four games.
