The Santos sensation explained his side are not at their best yet and has asked the fans for patience ahead after the South Americans were bettered in Stuttgart
The Santos forward started the match for the South American side and was largely disappointing throughout the encounter, with the exception being his goal two minutes into extra time.
Neymar confessed that whilst the result does not match Brazil's expectations, his side still need some time to gel.
Speaking to reporters after the game, he said: "This is not the result we wanted, but we need to keep our heads held high to continue the work. We need more time to get things going."
The 19-year-old was a doubt for the game with a fever and a sore throat, but recovered in time to feature for his country.
He added: "I had a hard time on Tuesday, but nothing that would make me miss the match."
