thumbnail Hello,

The national team tactician has expressed his admiration for his talented opponents but also outlined what his team need to do to beat the 2010 World Cup winners

Italy coach Cesare Prandelli has revealed most of his side's lineup ahead of Wednesday's friendly against Spain in Bari, with Antonio Cassano and Giuseppe Rossi once again chosen to lead the line.

Speaking at a press conference, the former Fiorentina coach confirmed the presence of Gianluigi Buffon in goal, followed by a defense of Christian Maggio, Andrea Ranocchia, Giorgio Chiellini, and Domenico Criscito. The front pairing will be Cassano and Rossi.

The only choice left to be made is in midfield, where one of Alberto Aquilani or Riccardo Montolivo will partner Thiago Motta, Daniele De Rossi, and Andrea Pirlo in a diamond midfield.

The Italy manager explained his choices as being technical in nature.

"We have no wide attackers, but we can make our attacks based on movement and we want to take advantage of our characteristics," he explained. "Cassano can hold out for an hour at a high level."

Prandelli then expressed his admiration for Vincent Del Bosque's side.

He said: "Spain have spent much time playing together. The team has tested mechanisms and automations. We will be playing against a team that has plenty of quality in the middle of the field."

He continued: "When we have possession, I want to see dynamic football. When we do not have the ball we must gain it back. We know we are facing the world champions and we want to put them in difficulty."
