LA Galaxy’s David Beckham admits two ‘big European clubs’ are chasing his signature
The former Manchester United man reiterates he would not play for another English club, but confesses to interest from the continent whilst refusing to rule out staying in the US
By Joe Wright
Beckham joined the MLS outfit in 2007 after previously playing for European giants Real Madrid and Manchester United, whilst he has also featured for AC Milan in two recent short-term loan deals.
The 36-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of December, and while he has always maintained he will not play for any English side other than the Red Devils, he has confessed to interest from big sides on the continent.
"I've got options, which is amazing at my age," he told the BBC. "A couple of big European clubs are after me.
"I played for the biggest club in England and couldn't see myself playing in another English shirt.
"I have a decision to make and I haven't made it yet."
The former England captain lifted the first trophy of his career in the US this week, as he helped the Galaxy secure the MLS Cup with a 1-0 win over Houston Dynamo on Sunday, with the midfielder admitting he has not yet ruled out the possibility of extending his stay with the Californian side.
“I might still be here next year playing," he added. "I need to sit down with friends and family and decide what's best for me.
"I have enjoyed everywhere I have played and it doesn't matter where I finish my career."
