Arsenal v Manchester City Betting Preview: Why City can get on the scoresheet more than once

Manuel Pellegrini's men have been in impressive scoring form during pre-season and Phil Kitromilides expects that to continue at Wembley against Arsenal on Sunday
Jose Mourinho once described the Super Cup (the Spanish equivalent to the Community Shield) as "the most important friendly and the least important competitive match" and that seems an apt way to sum up this traditional curtain raiser to the new season.

Reigning champions Manchester City are the favorites to win in 90 minutes, with Paddy Power offering them at 6/5 (2.20) while Arsenal return to the scene of their FA Cup triumph back in May as the 12/5 (3.40) outsiders. The draw meanwhile is also offered at 12/5 (3.40).

Both sides have had productive summers in the transfer markets, with City reinforcing their staggering squad with the likes of Fernando, Willy Caballero and Bacary Sagna, plus a short term loan move for Frank Lampard, while Arsenal replaced Sagna with Mathieu Debuchy as well as acquiring talented youngster Calum Chambers and Chilean super star Alexis Sanchez.

There will be stars aplenty on show then at the home of football and there could well be goals too, with over 2.5 goals offered at 8/11 (1.72).

More attractive though is the price of 10/11 (1.91) for City to score two goals or more, a selection that has proved profitable in recent weeks.

Indeed this bet has paid out in six of the seven matches they have played in pre-season, while Arsenal have failed to keep a clean sheet in their three friendlies played so far, making this an excellent looking option at a price which would allow punters to practically double their money provided City continue thier impressive scoring run.
