Red Devils and Catalan club name strong line-ups for pre-season clash as there are starts for the England internationals as well as Lionel Messi and Nemanja Vidic

Sir Alex Ferguson and Tito Vilanova have name strong teams for tonight's pre-season friendly clash between Manchester United and Barcelona as they are starts for Wayne Rooney and Lionel Messi.

Nemanja Vidic starts at the back alongside Rio Ferdinand for the Red Devils while England international Danny Welbeck is set to partner Rooney in attack.

In a surprise move Antonio Valenica will play at right-back with Nani and Ashley Young occupying the wing slots in the midfield while Anderson and Paul Scholes start in the middle of the park.

Barcelona meanwhile start with a three pronged attack of Messi, Alexis Sanchez and Cristian Tello. There's also a start for young midfielder Sergi Roberto who line-up alongside Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets in the centre of midfield.

Carlos Puyol will line-up at the back with Javier Mascherano in the centre of defence with Gerard Pique on the bench while Dani Alves and Adriano occupy the full-back positions in front of Victor Valdes.

Both teams have named high profile substitutes with Dimitar Berbatov, Shinji Kagawa, Xavi and Cesc Fabregas featuring on the bench.
