thumbnail Hello,

The R's maintained their impressive pre-season run with a victory over Wycombe Wanderers, while a young Baggies' side cruised their way past Stockport County at Edgeley Park

Wycombe Wanderers 0 - 3 Queens Park Rangers

Queens Park Rangers look to be gathering momentum ahead of their second season in the Premier League, after seeing off League Two side Wycombe Wanderers at Adam's Park on Tuesday.

Following on from a succesful tour of Asia, Mark Hughes' men continued their winning ways on home soil after a fine individual goal from Shaun Wright-Phillips added to Jamie Mackie's first-half opener before Nedum Onuoha put the tie beyond all doubt with just minutes remaining.

The visitors started the game brightly, with Djibril Cisse and Adel Taraabt both close to finding the net early in the first half, and the R's domination finally paid off before half-time, when Mackie seized onto a Taraabt through-ball and proceeded to smash the ball home past keeper Nikki Bull.

The second half continued in much the same manner, with the Premier League side looking to force the issue. Captain Wright-Phillips was next to break the deadlock after a stunning solo effort saw the winger round the keeper and slide the ball into an open goal.

The final nail in Wycombe's coffin came 5 minutes before the end, however, when Onuoha managed to nod home a Kieron Dyer corner to send the travelling fans home happy.

Stockport County 1 - 4 West Bromwich Albion XI

A young West Brom side, watched by first team manager Steve Clarke, managed to put four past their League Two opposition Stockport.

The Baggies XI, who featured new signing Yassine El Ghanassy in their starting line-up, took the game to Stockport from the off and were one up after 29 minutes, when midfielder Sam Mantom found the net from 20 yards.

An additiotnal two goals from young forward Saido Berahino and a goal from George Thorne were more than enough to see the Premier League side pick up a victory - despite a consolation goal from County man Daniel O'Donnell who headed in from close range.
