Sir Alex Ferguson has praised Thierry Henry following Manchester United’s win over the MLS All-Stars.

The Red Devils secured their fourth consecutive victory on their pre-season tour of America by beating the All-Stars 4-0 on Wednesday night.

New York Red Bulls striker Henry was part of the All-Stars side, and Sir Alex says the Frenchman always caused United problems during his days at Arsenal.

"He’s always a big concern with Arsenal, always a great threat to us," he told reporters. "I think he’s one of the few players that has scored regularly against us."

The United boss added: “Well, he’s still got that change of pace, and he’s always a threat because of it. And his experience, he showed his experience again tonight. He’s had a great career.”

The Scot also praised the former Arsenal striker’s professionalism throughout his career, labelling him a “good role model”.

“I think he’s definitely a legend with Arsenal, there’s no question about that," added Sir Alex.

"I think that’ll always be the case. His time there was fantastic and he’s always been a good role model in how he holds himself, as a footballer and a human being. He’s never wavered from that type of professionalism that you need to achieve that status."
