Lansbury 57

A brace from Samir Nasri, including a brilliant free-kick, and another from Henri Lansbury was enough to see Arsenal stroll to victory against Sturm Graz.

The Gunners got off to a good start, with Nasri giving the Gunners the lead after just 16 minutes. The Frenchman struck the ball low into the bottom corner past Cavlina to give his side the lead.

This proved to be the catalyst for the Gunners, with Chamakh having a chance to double their lead just four minutes later.

They weren’t having it all their own way though, and the hosts really should have got themselves level just after the half hour mark.

Some good work from Szabics set up Weinburger, who managed to get the better of Johan Djourou, only to see his effort saved by Fabianksi in the Arsenal goal.

It proved to be a costly miss for the Austrian side as Arsenal doubled their lead with three minutes of the half remaining, thanks to Nasri’s second goal of the night.

Jack Wilshere managed to win a free-kick on the edge of the box after some good work with Chamakh, and Nasri stepped up to brilliantly curl the ball over the wall and into the top corner.

Arsenal made several changes at the break and two of them made an impact just 12 minutes into the second half.

A flowing attacking move saw Emmanuel-Thomas square the ball to Lansbury and the 19-year-old coolly slotted the ball past Cavlina.

This pretty much killed the game off as a contest, with the Gunners controlling the ball for large periods as the second half wore on.

Rosicky and Koscielny both had half chances to add to the lead but it wasn’t to be and the game ended 3-0.
