The German came out on top in our poll of the best shot-stoppers from 2013-14 as part of the countdown to the Goal 50Goal 50 results.
The Bayern Munich star enjoyed a trophy-laden campaign, helping the Bavarian club to the domestic double before shining at the World Cup as Germany won the trophy for the first time in 24 years, with the 28-year-old keeping a clean sheet in the 1-0 final victory over Argentina.
The next most popular choice was Thibaut Courtois, whose heroics between the posts saw Atletico Madrid pip Real Madrid and Barcelona to the Liga title and come within seconds of a stunning Champions League triumph. The Belgium international, who was on loan at the Vicente Calderon from Chelsea, was backed by 25.2% of readers.
Neuer and Courtois dominated the voting and the next highest contestant was Lille's Vincent Enyeama, who kept a stunning 27 clean sheets for the French side before catching the eye with Nigeria at the World Cup. He landed 12.7% of the vote.
