M'Vila: I was fit to start for France against Ukraine

Midfielder missed Les Bleus' first Euro 2012 game against England through injury, but confirms that he is now fully fit after coming off the bench on Friday night
France midfielder Yann M'Vila has stated that he was fit to play against Ukraine on Friday night despite not being selected.

The 21-year-old missed Les Bleus’ Euro 2012 opener against England through an ankle injury, and featured in the game against Oleg Blokhin’s men as a substitute.
33/1 France are 33/1 with Paddy Power not to qualify from Group D.

M’Vila has revealed that he could have started the match if Laurent Blanc had wanted to use him.

"Philippe Lambert, France’s physical trainer, told me to warm up my ankle and train right away,” RMC Sport quote M’Vila as saying.

“That's what I did. Running I felt no pain. I was fine physically."

Alou Diarra and Yohan Cabaye have started in the centre of the park for France in their opening two games, but M’Vila will be in contention once more for a starting role in his nation’s last group stage game against Sweden on Tuesday.
