Olic ponders international retirement

The Croatia attacker, who sustained a knock in last week's friendly with Norway and will miss the Euros, said he is going to think about his future with the national side

Ivica Olic has admitted he is considering retiring from international duty after being forced out of Euro 2012 due to a thigh injury picked up in Croatia's 1-1 friendly draw with Norway on Saturday.

The experienced forward was expected to playa  big part in Slaven Bilic's plans but will only to be able to watch his team-mates as they compete in Ukraine and Poland.

“It’s hard to say whether I will never play for Croatia again. But that seems to be the natural course of things,” he told Sportske Novosti.

Olic's injury will sideline him for about four to six weeks and thus will miss what would have likely been his last major tournament.

After his recovery, Olic, who will leave Bayern Munich for Wolfsburg in July, said that he would like to fully concentrate on his new club and then decide whether he will ever play for Croatia again.
