Norwich keeper Ruddy hopeful of England call

Canaries stopper willing to postpone his wedding in order to play at Euro 2012 and believes the arrival of new Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson may give him a chance of selection

Norwich keeper John Ruddy is hopeful of being selected in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for this summer’s European Championships.

The Canaries stopper has been in brilliant form this season making some eye-catching stops to help his side retain their Premier League status for next season.

Joe Hart will start the summer as first-choice keeper, but Ruddy will look to fill one of the two other slots to provide competition for Manchester City man.

He told reporters: "You don't know how much revamping is done under the new coach.

2.20 Norwich City are 2.20 with 188bet to beat Aston Villa on Sunday.

"Maybe not so much now. Roy may stay with the tried and tested for the Euros and then mix it up for the World Cup qualifiers. But I played well at West Brom this season!

"If it happens I'll be over the moon but if it doesn't, I have a wedding to fall back on.

"I am getting married on June 2. In terms of a call-up, we would have to cross that bridge when we came to it. My missus is happy either way."
