Holt believes goals for Norwich give him 'a shot' of making England's Euro 2012 squad

Only Wayne Rooney has scored more than the Canaries' skipper in the Premier League this season and the former Rochdale man is hoping to catch Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson's eye

Norwich striker Grant Holt believes his goals and performances this season have given him 'a shot' of playing for England at Euro 2012.

Holt, 31, scored his 14th Premier League goal of the season against Arsenal on Saturday and hopes that new England manager Roy Hodgson will select his team on merit.

“You don’t know how someone will do until you give them a game. If he [Hodgson] goes on goals and performances, then I’ll have a shot," Holt told The Daily Mirror.

"But I’m not fashionable, have you seen my clothes? It doesn’t matter who has got the job, I just do my own job. I’m just scoring goals."

With the rare achievement of scoring in all four divisions in England complete, Holt wants a chance to play against the best in Poland and Ukraine and joked that he was willing to put his summer plans on hold if he was included in the squad.

"I’ve got five weddings in the summer, so I could be in trouble," he continued.
