The draw for Euro 2012 takes place later this afternoon and one of the main talking points after the 16 finalists have been put into four groups of four will, of course, be centred around who will be in a dreaded 'Group of Death'.

In Pot One are Spain, Netherlands, and co-hosts Ukraine and Poland.

This pot will be drawn first, with Poland placed automatically in Group A and Ukraine in Group D, to ensure all their group games take place in their respective countries.

Naturally, teams will want to avoid the Spanish and the Dutch – the two 2010 World Cup finalists – but the tournament hosts should hardly prove walkovers.

Next to be drawn will be Pot Four: here wait Denmark, France, Czech Republic and Republic of Ireland to find out their fate.

Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni has already stated his wish to face England while France are surely a team to avoid.

Next to be drawn into groups are countries in Pot Three, which are Croatia, Greece, Portugal and Sweden.

In 2004 underdogs Greece defied all the odds to take home the European Championship trophy but it will be Portugal who will be feared most among their fellow Euro 2012 finalists.

And finally there is Pot Two to be drawn which holds Germany, Italy, England and Russia which arguably contains three favourites for the competition while Russia have always proved tough opponents in the past.
