thumbnail Hello,

The Liverpool midfielder, who has spent the season on-loan at Juventus picked up the knock in his side's 3-0 win against Estonia and will therefore miss their friendly on Tuesday

Alberto Aquilani has been removed from the Italy squad for Tuesday night's international friendly against the Republic of Ireland, as he is suffering from a head knock.

The Liverpool midfielder started the Euro 2012 qualifying match against Estonia on Friday night, but was replaced by Antonio Nocerino after 24 minutes due to the injury.

Reports in Italy claim that the 26-year-old went to hospital in Modena after the game, but was released after a brief observation.

The head injury is not deemed serious, but the player will not be included in Tuesday's fixture, and will return home this afternoon.

Italy went on to win the game 3-0 without the player who spent this season on loan at Juventus; Aquilani will now be free to concentrate on sorting out his club situation for the 2011/12 season with the former Roma man reportedly hoping to stay in Turin as opposed to returning to the Premier League.
