But stopper determined to keep hold of number one spot for club and country
Months after many called for Joe Hart to be England’s number one, he was finally given the jersey for the friendly against Hungary. One mistake against Blackburn aside and many are still heaping praise on the immensely talented 23 year old.
Nonetheless, Hart is level headed enough to know that a fall could lie just around the corner.
"I am well aware that the pressure is there," Hart told thefa.com.
"People build you up and as soon as anything does go slightly wrong then they are hard on you.
"But that is the nature of the game and if I want to be at the top level then I think you've just got to be prepared for things like that.
"It is another thing you need to work on. Another thing you need to be good at is taking criticism."
Hart is also thriving on the continuity of playing with the same people week in week out, be it for Manchester City or England. The fact that both of his managers are Italian has also played a part in Hart’s development this season:
"It is the norm for me now. In fact, it would feel weird for me not to work with an Italian manager now because everywhere I am, they are there” he added.
"It is great. They have a real winning attitude they bring towards the players."
