Following his side's 3-0 loss to Germany, Turkey coach Guus Hiddink praised his opponents but claimed that the loss of influential midfielder Mehmet Aurelio was a turning point in the match.
Aurelio was forced to withdraw midway through the first half with what appeared to be a thigh strain, after which time Hiddink conceded the Germans controlled the game.
"We could last with them for 25 minutes but after Aurelio's injury we just had too many problems," Hiddink told reporters after the match.
"We played against a team that was dominant in all aspects of the game."
Turkey now are three points behind Germany in Group A, and level with Austria. Their next match is scheduled for Tuesday, when the crescent stars face Azerbaijan in a winnable contest.
