Scotland captain Darren Fletcher: The referee denied us momentum against Lithuania

Scotland skipper Darren Fletcher was left cursing his luck as his side dropped two crucial points to Euro 2012 Group I rivals Lithuania.
The Manchester United midfielder spoke to BBC Scotland after the game saying: “It was a real difficult game here tonight, taking in all of the circumstances, ideally we would have liked to win, we deserved a win and we had a few half chances and maybe a little better final ball, something we need to improve on before the next game.
“But overall performance wise I thought it was good, the only disappointing thing is we haven’t got three points.
"We were on the front foot all of the night, we were bombing forward with the full backs causing them problems, but it’s just that final ball that didn’t get in there.”
Fletcher was unhappy with the referee’s performance saying: “The whole game was stop start, there was fouls every minute, when we built up momentum, or had a counter attack they just looked to foul and the referee could have been a little bit stronger in that respect.
“Overall if you look at the game, we had the better of the play, we created the most chances and they only had one real chance in the first half when big Davie [Weir] was fouled and [Allan] McGregor’s made a great save.”
