Wolves midfielder David Edwards remains confident of Wales' chances of qualification for Euro 2012.

The 24-year-old travels with the Wales squad to Montenegro on Friday ahead of their opening group match.

Wales, whose group also includes England, are looking to qualify for their first international tournament since 1958.

John Toshack's squad feature a blend of experience and youth with the likes of Joe Ledley and Gareth Bale complementing senior players such as James Collins.

Edwards believes Wales can give a good account of themselves in the group stages and can claim three points in Montenegro.

"It is a very tough group but I think anybody could beat anybody," he said.

"If we can get off to a good start hopefully we can be the team that comes to the front.

"You get momentum and confidence if you get three points early on and we are going to Montenegro to get three points."

The Wolves man also praised the attacking intent within the Wales team and believes that the squad possesses players that can damage teams.

He said: "We do look very dangerous going forward at the moment.

"We have a lot of pace and quality in the team and hopefully there is a lot of goals there.

"The youthfulness of the squad shouldn't be used against us because there is a lot of experience in the young lads now.

"We have got the experience to do well, so it is no excuse."
