Suarez is not too good for Arsenal, say Goal readers

The results of our latest poll are in and the majority believe that the Uruguay international is suited to a move to Arsene Wenger's side this summer

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher may have upset a few Arsenal fans after suggesting that Luis Suarez is too good to play for Arsene Wenger's side.

18/1 Luis Suarez is 18/1 with bet365 to be the Premier League's top scorer
"Luis Suarez is also too good for Arsenal," wrote the 35-year-old in his Daily Mail column. "In recent years, they haven’t challenged for trophies; they have not made an impact in the Champions League and they are no closer to winning the Premier League."

The Uruguay international claimed earlier this week that he had been promised a move from Anfield this summer after the club failed to secure a spot in this season's Champions League.

Liverpool owner John W Henry has since declared that Suarez will not be permitted a switch to Arsenal, or a club abroad, while manager Brendan Rodgers maintains the striker must apologise to his team-mates and the club before being integrated back into the first team.

Goal readers had their say on Suarez and 65.8 per cent believe that the 26-year-old is not too good for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, 34.2% of readers agree with Carragher in that the Uruguayan would be better off with a move to a bigger club.
