Over 80% of Goal.com readers rate Ryan Giggs as the greatest Manchester United player ever

An overwhelming amount named the Welshman as the most impressive to wear the Red Devils' shirt after the 38-year-old's last-gasp winner against Norwich on his 900th appearance

A staggering 80 per cent of Goal.com readers believe that Ryan Giggs is the greatest ever Manchester United player, our poll has revealed.

Giggs scored a vital last-gasp winner against Norwich at the weekend to mark his 900th appearance for the Red Devils, prompting wild celebration amongst his team-mates as his side look to catch Manchester City in the hunt for their 20th Premier League title.


Following his performance, 80.09% of readers have decided the Welshman is the best player to ever pull on the Red Devils’ shirt.

The 38-year-old has managed to win a spectacular 21 trophies during his spell at Old Trafford, the most by any player in the history of English football.

However, despite his heroics, 19.91% believe there are better candidates to have played for United during their long and successful history.

Giggs recently penned a new deal to remain at the club for another year and will be looking to add to his staggering medal haul, with United still in contention for the domestic and Europa League crowns.
