The Argentine coach believes the results in the first two weeks of the campaign have shown that all clubs are equal and believes his players are still getting used to each otherDiego Simeone says his Atletico Madrid team must improve in the coming weeks if they are to remain competitive in La Liga.
The reigning Spanish champions picked up their first league win of the season when they ground to a 2-1 victory over Eibar.
Despite taking a 2-0 lead in the first half, the Basque club fought hard to get back into the game and, after pulling a goal back, came close to pulling level.
And Simeone has admitted his side need to improve on their opening two performances, but stressed the new signings are still getting used to their new surroundings.
"We have to improve and work hard. That is what we enjoy the most. Winning is a positive, and from there we hope that it will bear fruit.
"The characteristics of the players who have come in are not the same as those who left. We are working hard with the new players so that they adapt.
"All of the early matches [this season] have shown that nobody has been better than the rest. All of the results have been close. We started off very well, but later we weren't able to get comfortable.
"The anxiety to get the points played on us more than our own enthusiasm."
When asked if he would bring in new signigns before the close of the transfer window, the Argentine coach said he would discuss it with the club's hierarchy.
"We'll talk about that with the board. There is still time. We'll see if there are more comings and goings.
