The Welshman ended the season in fine style, inspiring Real Madrid to Champions League glory, but has he done enough to repay his massive price tag in full this campaign?
Gareth Bale move to Real Madrid in August for a world-record £85.3 million and has gone on to win the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in his first season with Los Blancos.
The former Tottenham man got off to a slow start at his new club after missing pre-season due to a long-drawn out transfer process and a series of injury problems.
However, he went on to score on his debut for Real Madrid, against Villarreal, and grabbed another couple of goals on his home debut for the club as his side beat Sevilla 7-3.
In total Bale has recorded 22 goals and 17 assists in his debut campaign in Spain as well as scoring a superb, individual winner to claim the Copa del Rey as Madrid beat Barcelona 2-1.
Bale was also on target in the Champions League final, heading home in extra time to put Carlo Ancelotti's men ahead for the first time on the night as his side claimed La Decima with a 4-1 win over Atletico Madrid.
However, it has not been the perfect season for Madrid as they once again missed out on winning La Liga and had to watch as city rivals Atleti were crowned champions for the first time since 1996.
Indeed they eventually finished the season in third place in the league, despite looking hot favourites to claim the title towards the end of the season before draws with Valencia and Valladolid and defeat to Celta Vigo ended their hopes.
So do you think Gareth Bale has repaid his massive transfer fee? Or has the Welshman failed to live upto expectations since his arrival at the Santiago Bernabeu?
