Martino: This will be Barcelona's first title as normal human beings

The Argentine coach feels the Blaugrana were made to fight hard for success this term and has stressed that the outcome of Saturday's game will not affect his future
Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino believes it will be the current Catalan side's first trophy as "normal human beings" if they beat Atletico Madrid on Saturday to clinch the Liga title.

The blaugrana currently trail leaders Atleti by three points, but a win at Camp Nou in the final league game of the season will see them leapfrog Diego Simeone's side on their superior head-to-head record to claim the championship.

5/6 Barcelona are 5/6 with Paddy Power to beat Atletico Madrid and win the 2013/14 Liga title
It has been a difficult season both on and off the field for Barca with a slump in form, the Neymar transfer saga and the death of former coach Tito Vilanova, and Martino feels the players showed they are only human after impressing with some "extra-terrestrial performances" in the past few years.

"If we win the Primera Division title this season, it will be this team's first win as normal people, a hard-fought title," Martino stated at a press conference.

"The other titles were all won by a team of extra-terrestrials.

"I really want to win the title for the players. It has been a very difficult year for them with everything that has happened.

"Winning La Liga will not change much for me. I will decide what I want to do irrespective of trophies."

The Argentine then went on to reveal that Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba and Neymar are all match-fit, but added that it will be hard to pick the right starting XI to beat Atletico and lift the title.

"Neymar, Pique and Alba have worked very hard to return. Now we will see whether they play or not," he continued.

"It will not be easy to choose the right starting line-up."

Saturday's match at Camp Nou is scheduled to kick off at 18:00CET.
