thumbnail Hello,

The Brazilian says this campaign has been positive for him but admitted it was difficult to adapt to an entirely different country and league

Barcelona forward Neymar says his first season in La Liga has been a great learning experience and hopes he can improve on his performances next term.

The Brazilian has scored nine goals in his maiden campaign in La Liga following his big money move from Santos.

And the 22-year-old insists he is still developing as a player and adapting to the league.

"This season has been a season of learning," he told Sport.

"I came from another country with another style of football, and came into a completely new situation. I had to adapt personally. I have learned a lot, not only personally, but also professionally.

"In life not everything is easy, some mornings are good and others are not.
We recently lost the Copa del Rey and that was not a good feeling, but you have to learn.

"When you feel sad, look up and keep smiling.

"I needed an apprenticeship and I hope all this learning will serve me well for next year, that I can give much more and that we achieve a lot of success next season."

Neymar also said he had been impressed with Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale but that Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi was still the best player in the world.

"Bale is a great player with huge potential and it is showing this season. I can say that I train every day with Leo and to me me he is the best, he's a special player."
