Barcelona defender Dani Alves has hailed his side's ability to bounce back in the face of adversity following their win over Manchester City.
The Blaugrana suffered a damaging 1-0 loss to Valladolid at the weekend to leave them four points off the pace in the Liga title race.
However, they claimed a 2-1 win over City on Wednesday to seal a Champions League quarter-final berth and the Brazilian is delighted with his side's response.
"We're very happy to go on to the next round. When things aren't going well, it's normal for there to be criticism," Alves, who scored his side's second goal, told the club's official website.
"Besides the goal I'm happy with how the team played, we always respond. There only one path to follow. We had a slip, but we're moving forward."
The former Sevilla man also called on the fans to get behind the team for the remainder of the season, with Barca still involved on all three fronts.
"If we're all together, we're stronger. We are Barca and we have to defend this shirt to the death."
